My Version of Business Success
It looks very different to each of us. Success, that is. It sure is unique from one person to the next, huh? Last night, I was able to get comfy in my bed for an hour with just the pen and paper and me. I was only interrupted like twelve times, but hey, you take what you can get. Honestly, the time was incredibly sweet. I was able to envision what I think success would look like for Raw Sugar Writes in 2017. And this photo, though not typical to my feed, captures my heart for my business on so many levels.
First, to genuinely encourage and inspire women. It’s the heart behind what I do and why I started this online shop of handlettered goods in the first place. Because I know there are so many like me, who feel overworked and often overwhelmed and sometimes discouraged and usually exhausted. And very slowly, I’m learning to not live in those places, and gosh, I want to share that and leave other women feeling challenged and strengthened. Second, REST. This photo doesn’t picture two women pulling their hair out from a giant to-do list. It shows them connecting and being present and resting. I want to live that as a lifestyle. There will always be a to-do list, but I can conquer that list and be a mom and wife and friend from a place of rest. Third, I’m gonna bet one of those friends bought the other friend her coffee. And I wanna be the friend who buys the coffee. Success in my business also means I can contribute to this family financially. I want to be in a place where I make more than I ever dreamed I would, and then I get to spread it all around.
Would love to hear from you. Do you relate to any of that? What’s success look like for you in business or in your work environment?
